Kayla & Hansie 11-12-11

Back in July, at my best friend’s wedding, I made friends with her photographer, John LoConte.  He’s a great wedding photographer, and I was excited when he told me he liked my work!  I recently asked if I could shadow some weddings with him to build my portfolio and get the experience, and he happened to have one a few weeks ago.  It was a lot of fun and definitely a learning experience.  I will definitely be shadowing many more until I feel I’m ready for it on my own.  I can’t wait until the spring to do more!  Here are a few of my favorites from the day.

I have so many more favorites I could post, there are so many awesome pictures!

Jennifer & Mario 11-11-11

I’ve been posting listings on Craigslist for a few weeks now, just to try to get some exposure.  I got an email from a bride, asking if I was available to cover her small, private home ceremony about a week before.  A little last minute, but I was available so I said yes.  The ceremony was very intimate, and I had a fun time capturing their photos.

Christopher – Holiday 2011 Portraits

My first Holiday photo client found me on Facebook, through a friend after I took his daughter’s baby photos.  Our original session date was snowed out on Halloween weekend.  Gotta love New England weather!  It all worked out, because a week later we had beautiful fall weather for her son Christopher’s portraits.  They chose to have their session at their lovely home.  Christopher is a very sweet boy, and I had a lot of fun!  We took some formal portraits, and then played around the back yard and the house to capture Christopher having fun in his natural environment.

Christopher was great during his session, and his mom loves all of the photos!  I couldn’t be happier.  I love happy clients! :)

The Zacklys – Live at The Farm Bar & Grille, Essex, MA

The Zacklys are a band out of the North Shore, and my Dad just happens to be one of the band members. They are a lot of fun, and they play great music.  They played last Saturday at The Farm in Essex, MA, and of course I was there, camera in hand.  I also got to try out my new mini softbox I bought for my flash.  Needless to say, it’s AWESOME!

From L-R- Pat Runne, John Cotti, Phil Morris
Joe Gentile on percussion!
Pat claims he has nowhere else to hold his train whistle.
You’d think he’d learn after I’ve taken this picture more than once!
Your beer glass can also double as a slide.  Who knew?
You also can’t play a gig without the mic stand beer holder attachment.

This was a very fun night with friends and familly, and we hope the Zacklys play here again soon!
